As requested by your senior Joel Peh, maka saya dengan berat hatinya menulis pasal Cumberland House juga haha. Btw, Cumberland ni dua orang seniors je duduk situ. Aaron Wong and Joel Peh.
Rental – 225 per week (single studio). The number of rooms are limited, so your place would not be guaranteed. For twin share studio, it's $205 per week
To University – depends on how fast you walk, (kalau laju, 7min boleh sampai, average 10-15min)
Tambang bas ke uni – 1.50, with snapper 1.20
Location – near to town, banyak restaurant, Sunday market sebelah je
Cooking Utilities – ade fridge, microwave, electric kettle, mini kitchen
Size – Depends on your luck. Bilik aku besar, ade yang kecil sikit, toilet aku siap boleh picnic dalam tu haha (Joel, 2010)
Facilities – ade gym, common room MUCH bigger than Edu House, ade meja pool, GIANT chess, study room, music room, common kitchen, etc
Laundry – washing machine 2 dollar, dryer 2 dollar (disadvantages betul, rumah lain free je zzzz)
Electric – around 2500 – 2800kW each sem for self catered, 50% less for catered (can't remember the exact amount) . It is more than enough, masak, pasang heater everyday, use hairdryer often, etc masih tinggal byk lagi
Furniture – single bed, study table, study lamp, wardrobe, heater (can turn it on anytime, boleh jadi air cond juga) ,etc
Security – swipe card masuk, naik lift, weekends ade security guard jaga lagi
Internet – kalau tak silap, paling laju kot, average download speed (1.5-2mbps, my maximum so far 3.4mbps) (meaning download video 1GB with 3.4mbps speed less than 5min) agak mahal, tapi berbaloi untuk org yg kuat download ($80 per mth for 40GB usage)
PROS – almost everything except $$$
CONS - $$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Again, choose wisely..
