pecutan akhir sebelum terbang siri ketiga

ok. so siri ketiga basically pasal settling down in nz.

1) macamana nak contact family bila dah kat nz?
- ok, good news is, maxis, celcom, digi semua tu boleh guna lagi kat sini. cumanya mahal je la sikit. tapi 50sen je apalah sangat kan. haha. and then, nanti boleh pergi beli simcard. ada 3 jenis kat sini, telecom, vodafone and 2 degrees. paling murah, 2 degrees. 9sen je international msg. another alternative, beli phone card macam superbuzz, yabba atau chi tel ke. banyak pilihan. kalau duduk kat uni hall, dah ada telefon free, so boleh terus guna dan cakaplah berapa lama korang nak pun. harga serendah 10 dolar.

2) bolehke survive tidur hari pertama takde duvet?

3) travellers cheque nak guna macamana?
- benda tu kena cash kan. so nanti senior akan bawa pergi bank set up account semua. korang tak payah la serabut kepala nah. haha.

4) makanan apa kena bawa?

6) berapa cash nak bawa datang nz?
--yang ni memang ikut suka koranglah kan. tapi dalam nzd300 cash in hand cukup je.

Pecutan Akhir sebelum TERBANG TINGGI!!! siri 2

Assalamualaikum...

Let's continue...

4. Yang MUSLIM!!!!Take Note!!!! : Untuk pengetahuan korang, waktu solat kat Wellington tersangatlah berbeza YA AMAT!!!!!...Waktu subuh kadang2 seawal jam 3 pagi dan waktu isyak plak boleh jadi selewat 11 malam...so it would be better that you guys go and browse through www.fianz.co.nz dan p tengok range waktu solat di bandar Wellington...kalau boleh terus save takwim solat untuk the whole year...pasal solat di kampus, toksah la korang pikir yang korang akan solat bawah tangga ke, sebelah longkang ke, depan tandas ke sebab ada disediakan prayer room kat bangunan 'New Kirk',Kelburn Campus...lebih spesifik Bilik 202A...maknanya kat tingkat 2, bilik 02A...untuk yang lelaki, insyaAllah akan ada surau baru dekat Student Union Building untuk kegunaan harian dan juga Solat Jumaat...so jgn ngada2 nak ponteng Solat Jumaat...sebab Syeikh Khatib sgt perihatin dengan attendance pelajar Malaysia ke Solat Jumaat...dinasihatkan juga kepada korang untuk memperdalami perkara2 berkait dengan fiqh seperti jama' dan qasar solat, khuf dan lain2...pasal aktiviti keagamaan plak, insyaAllah hati korang takkan rasa sunyi provided that korang take part dalam aktiviti yang dianjurkan oleh Vic Muslim dan juga WMSO...rajin2kan diri untuk berdampingan dengan aktiviti agama agar hati korang sentiasa dipenuhi 'Nur'...Kalau korang tak keberatan, bawaklah sorang satu quran yang ada terjemahan...sekurangnya takde la korang bergantung semata pada pengisian yang org bagi...

Pecutan Akhir sebelum TERBANG TINGGI!!! siri 1

Assalamualaikum...

Dah berhabuk dah blog nie ye...lama tul tak update...terlebih maklum para 'associate writers' sedang sibuk bercuti musim panas barangkali...namun demikian untuk membuka tirai 2011,ku dahulukan entry ini yang diharapkan dapat membantu sedikit sebanyak adik2 yang bakal menjadi warga Wellington tak lama lagi.

Where should we start???

As long as die ada ingredients punya listings.

How Cohort 1 celebrated Eid ul-Fitri in Wellington

All praise is to Allah. Alhamdulillah. Though most of us celebrated Ramadhan abroad for the first time, it was not that bad, right? I would say, it's quite fun. Plus with the big ifthar and everything. Well then, back to the main story. Eid ul-fitr was celebrated on 10th of August 2011. It was quite a surprise as NZ started the day of fasting a day later than countries like Malaysia, Australia and so on. Nevertheless, we were all excited upon hearing the news, and let us hope that this Ramadhan was better than before and that Allah will accept our good deeds and grant us His forgiveness and mercy. Ameen.

The Eid prayer was held in 3 different locations, at Malaysian Student Department, Kilbirnie Mosque and VUW's prayer room. Most of cohort 1 prayed at MSD, and ouh, with lovely raya meals afterwards, haha.

 MSD in Brooklyn

We attended lots of open houses on the first few days of raya. Lots of rendang, nasi impit, soto, kuih cornflakes, almond london etc. Now, who said that we didn't have rendang in NZ?  :)

Some of the photos taken during the open houses:

Not to forget, Salamanca's House was organising an open house as well, unfortunately there was no picture taken, or should I say, uploaded on facebook? Nevertheless, the eid celebration was fun. It brought cohort 1 even more closer to each other. And we thank God for that. Indahnya ukhwah kita, moga sampai ke syurga. And looking forward for cohort 1's open house alltogether tomorrow. See you guys there!

A checklist before Ramadhan....

Assalamualaikum...

It has been long since my last post. Now, I am back with a simple post for us to ponder as Ramadhan is reaching us in 24 hours time. I hope that we can make this year's Ramadhan the best Ramadhan ever in our life, InsyaAllah...

1. Ask Allah to enable you to reach Ramadan and to get the most out of it as the Salaf used to do.

2. Intend to fast every day with Iman and pure intention seeking the reward from Allah alone. The Prophet peace be upon him said, "Whoever fasts in Ramadan with Iman and seeking reward (from Allah) his past sins will be forgiven". (Bukhari)

3. Read the whole Qur'an at least once as the Prophet peace be upon him did.
4. Have Suhoor as the Prophet peace be upon him said, "Have Suhoor because it is blessed".

5. Make Du'a during the fast because the Prophet peace be upon him said that three people's supplication is not rejected one of them is the fasting person. Ask for the good of this life and the next for yourself, your family and Muslims in general.

6. Make Dua before opening the fast. The Prophet peace be upon him said, "The fasting person has a supplication that is answered when he opens his fast".

7. Give Sadaqah and be good to people. The Prophet peace be upon him was the most generous of people and he was most generous in Ramadan.

8. Avoid anything that diminishes the fast such as, lying, backbiting, cheating, getting angry. The Prophet peace be upon him said "Whoever does not give up false statements (i.e. telling lies), and evil deeds, and speaking bad words to others, Allah is not in need of his (fasting) leaving his food and drink." [Bukhari] 9. Do not eat too much after Iftar.

10. Ask for forgiveness since this is the month Allah frees people from the fire.

11. Pray At-Tarawih with Khushoo. If you pray in the Masjid complete the Salah with the Imam. If you pray at home prolong the Salah as long as you can. The Prophet peace be upon him said, "Whoever prays during Ramadan with Iman and seeking reward (from Allah) his past sins will be forgiven".

12. Feed the poor and invite others for Iftar. The Prophet peace be upon him said, "Whoever gives Iftar to someone fasting he will have the same reward without decreasing the reward of the person fasting".

13. Try harder the last ten nights especially the odd nights. The prophet would strive in Ramadan more than he would in any other month and more so in the last ten days.

14. Say this Dua in the nights that Laitul-Qadr is likely to fall on: Allhumma innaka afuwun tuhibbul-afwa fa'fu anni (O Allah you are Forgiving and love forgiveness so forgive me).

15. Ask Allah to accept all your good actions during this month.

May Allah forgive by letting us enjoy the goodness of RAMADHAN....

3 years &still standing. sayang semua ♥- Adawiah Zaini, 2010

indahnya ukhuwah cohort 1 cycle 3. may our bonds forever solid ♥♥ really had fun playing UNO, makan2, gelak2 dengan you guys ♥ - Qistina Fahmi, 2010

We found faith and hope in each other. “Even though we've changed and we're all finding our own place in the world, we all know that when the tears fall or the smile spreads across our face, we'll come to each other because no matter where this crazy world takes us, nothing will ever change so much to the point where we're not all still friends- anonymous

Thanks for coming to Joe and Farah's birthday party. To both of you, were you surprised? Haha. Happy 21st birthday and welcome to the club ay!

And dear Cohort 1, we cannot tell the precise moment when friendship is formed. As in filling a vessel drop by drop, there is at last a drop which makes it run over; so in a series of kindnesses there is at last one which makes the heart run over- anonymous

Let us cherish our friendship together, shall we? (^_^)

bersatu 2010 in memories

The BERSATU games 2010 have finally came to an end. Special thanks to cohort 1 who have been giving their fullest commitment and try their best to win. It was great having you guys on field. And congratulations for bringing back the medals, let them be gold, silver, or bronze, you have made us proud. The most important thing is the sportsmanship, and yes, we certainly have that =)

Congratulations to WMSO team as well. You did make the games tougher, and more competitive. Worth losing our voice cheering for you, ay? Hahaha. Last but not least, thanks to the supporters who came to Auckland. Special thanks if you came by bus, well, it was 12 long hours ay. Cheer till the end.

Go green. Go film a trilogy. Go Wellington. Go wellisaurus. Aummm!!
